Picture Knockout

Summary

everyone walks freely around the space; on a call of “number + object” (for example “two people — a bridge”), players must quickly form groups of that number and build the object with their bodies; the slowest group and any group whose headcount does not match are out. The last players standing are the champions.

Procedures

  1. 1

State the Objective and Rules: Move freely throughout the space; upon hearing a "number + object" command, quickly form teams based on the stated number and arrange the objects into the required shape; "the first group to fail to complete the shape within the time limit and have an incorrect number of members will be eliminated immediately."

  2. 2

Warm-up Movement: Everyone moves freely around the space—just as shown in the video, moving continuously between two consecutive commands; the instructor may also say "change direction" at any time, so keep your head up and keep moving.

  3. 3

First round: Simple Shapes: The instructor calls out the first "number + object" —for example, "2 people, a bridge". Participants quickly pair up with teammates, count their number, and collectively form the shape. The instructor checks the number of members around the room and identifies the group that took the longest to complete the shape and had the wrong number of members; these students sit down for the remainder of the round to observe.

  4. 4

The game continues—switching numbers and objects: 5 people, an elephant, 3 people, a chair, 6 people, a circle, and so on; everyone stands up and continues moving between rounds. When forming a team, not only must the number of members be correct, but the object must actually be physically arranged—shape is just as important as speed.

  5. 5

Final Round and Champion: The number of participants on the field decreases, and the commands become increasingly difficult—larger groups, more tricky objects, and shorter time limits.
