Spaghetti!

Summary
The entire class forms a circle; the teacher designates any one person in the circle to use a specified word—for example, "Spaghetti" —and to act out the word through body expressions. The available emotions include, among others: excited, extremely excited, sad, angry, desperate, and torn between love and hate; the teacher should also explain that once the individual performance has concluded, the group may proceed to collaborative teamwork.
Procedures
- 1
Circle Formation and Word Recitation: Have the entire class form a circle with faces turned inward. The teacher states the rule: "Today, you will say only one word: 'spaghetti'." First, the class says the word once in their usual tone.
- 2
Filling the Body with Emotion: Have everyone collectively embody the following emotions: excited, super-excited, sad, angry, desperate, or a mix of love and hate—other emotions familiar to the class may also be used.
- 3
Performing the Word "Spaghetti": The person pointed to by the teacher enters the circle and uses the emotion randomly assigned by the teacher to perform the word "spaghetti" through body movement, facial expression, and vocalization simultaneously. Once each emotion is performed, the designated person relaxes and returns to the circle.
- 4
Accelerated Command Chanting : The teacher chants one emotion after another, gradually increasing the speed, alternating between high-energy emotions (super-excited, angry) and low-energy emotions (weak, desperate).
- 5
Team "Spaghetti": After the individual performance, the class can move into team collaboration. Form groups of three or four; each group takes on one emotion and together builds a shared "spaghetti" formation—creating a specific shape, conveying a specific feeling, and shouting "spaghetti!" in unison at the same moment. Each group takes turns presenting their creation, and the entire class guesses which emotion they are embodying.
