The symposium addresses the historical development, artistic concepts, compositional techniques, theoretical frameworks, talent development, and disciplinary development of Chinese instrumental music composition.
Why Attend
The symposium is more specialized than a general music education conference and is primarily relevant to composition, musicology, and Chinese instrumental music research. It may nevertheless be valuable to educators working with Chinese repertoire, curriculum development, composition pedagogy, or traditional music education.

Papers should generally be 8,000–12,000 Chinese characters, with a 300–500-character Chinese abstract. Submissions are due November 20, 2026, at midnight. Authors whose papers pass review will be invited to participate and present their work, and selected papers may be included in the conference proceedings.
