The conference is organized jointly by the Music Education Branch of The Chinese Society of Education (CSE) and Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. Participants will arrive on November 5, 2026, with the main conference activities taking place November 6–8 at Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in Hangzhou.

Programming includes keynote presentations, roundtable discussions, lectures, thematic sessions, workshops, teaching demonstrations, and research exchanges. Participants include school music teachers, curriculum specialists, university music education students and faculty, researchers, and other music education professionals.

For music education students and early-career educators, this conference provides a useful view of current developments in Chinese school music education, teacher education, curriculum, classroom practice, and educational research. Compared with performance-centered festivals, its focus is more directly connected to teaching, research, and professional development.

Conference registration closes November 1, 2026. Separately, the CSE Music Education Branch is conducting a 2026 paper submission program in basic music education. Papers are due October 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.; selected authors may be invited to present during the conference. This paper program should be understood as a separate affiliated research submission opportunity rather than a general conference proposal call.
